Used to love going there! Rob would always help me out in the past and had a ton of knowledge about Guinea pigs. He'd see me in public and ask how they were doing. Now I go in, and I have to go up to an employee and ask for help I've been waiting for so long and they just put the Guinea pig in the box and can't take the time to talk to me. Couldn't even give me the change because he was going so fast at check out. Not to mention, one of the baby Guinea pigs I just got 5 days ago just passed away.
My girlfriend and i had always wanted pet goldfish since we started dating. we finally got the money and time to up a tank and get fish of our own. petco being the only place around here that sells fish was our only option. we bought 2 fish and within a week one of the fish is dead already and the other fish without a doubt is going to be dead within the next few days if not tomorrow. petco sold us sick fish and that is not okay. first off they have a strict policy on how you have to be 18 to buy and care for a fish. yet they have over populated sick fish in every tank. they allow a certain amount of fish you can buy depending on the size of your tank and my tank is much much larger than these and i only have 2 they have like 15-20 fish per tank. half of the time there is sick or dead fish infesting the tanks. do not go to petco and buy fish it will be a waste of your money and time and then you feel bad because your pet died and you couldn't do anything about it:(
As u can see the blurry hamster in the profile picture is mine. I got her here her name is Ducky. When I was getting her one of the staff members came over and asked if we needed help. We told her I didn't know what this type of hamster felt like or how heavy it was, before I had a smaller hamster the staff mwber was so nice she let me hold her!!! So I ended up getting her. I got her on March,17th,2017 today, she is happy and healthy like any hamster should be!!
They were willing to call another pet supply store for me to find an item they didn't have in stock. That's huge in my book!
My fiance drives all the way from middlebury to rutland once a week for a mouse and every week she gets sent to the back of the line, cause her mouse is not a priority. She drives futher then anyone else in the store everyweek and gets sent back to the end of the line. Then when you call and ask for a Manager they put you on hold and don't ever call you back or answer the line. Poor customer service, very poor, and worse management. She drives almost an hour one way every week to this store, and she has to wait till everyone in the store checks out before her cause she only has one mouse. My advice, go somewhere else.
